Clinics & Services
We run a daily GP phone triage system, which means that all GP appointments are bookable on the day and cannot be booked in advance.
In addition to GP consultations the practice adheres to the General Medical Services Contract for the provision of healthcare services:
Chronic Disease Clinics. These are practice nurse-led and involve the management of asthma, COPD, diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension, thyroid and epilepsy reviews.
Lifestyle Advice. This deals with issues around weight management, diet, cholesterol and hypertension.
Minor Illness Clinics. These are run daily by our practice nurses.
Physiotherapy. This service deals with the management of musculoskeletal and sports injury problems as well as joint injections. Clinics are run from Bonnyrigg.
Family Planning. This includes the insertion of coils (IUCDS) and Implanon. Please read this check list to see if this is suitable for you. You can also read about coils on the Chalmers Sexual Health Centre website.
Emergency Contraception A copper coil insertion is the most effective form or emergency contraception if fitted up to five days after unprotected intercourse and is ten times more effective than the morning after pill. Please speak to reception to arrange a suitable appointment, either with us, or other sexual health drop in centres for a coil fitting or other suitable treatment.
